Loch Broom under Pylon Threat

A high voltage power line is planned to run from Ullapool to Beauly. The proposed route would go along Loch Broom, passed Corrieshalloch Gorge and along the A 835. Thsi will threaten to spoil many viewpoints in the area and can be seen from Ullapool, Beinn Dearg, Gleann Mor viewpoint and the Fannichs.
Some stats:

  • 400 kVolt overhead power lines
  • 50 metres high with a distance of 300 metres between them
  • will spoil many view points in the area
  • There are alternative: undersea and underground
Please help to stop this project by writing to your local politicians:
  • Alison Magee, Convenor, Highland Council, Inverness
  • John Rennilson, Head of Planning, Highland Council, Inverness
  • Jean Urquhart, Councillor for Lochbroom Ward, Highland Council
  • Your MSP, MP and MEP
  • John Farquhar Munro, MSP
  • Charles Kennedy, MP
You can also go to the "Highlands Before Pylons" campaign website at www.hbp.org.uk
