An older fashioned hut than many, with stone interiors, gas mantles and blazing log fires. Saturday saw Barry Hard, Robin Forrest and I head up Glen Uig to climb the remote B.Tarsuinn in Autumn sunlight with spectacular cloud effects over the Loch Monar hills. On the way back by the Bealach Bearnais someone suggested taking in Sgur Feartaig as well as the last of the light. We descended the excellent stalkers’ path back to the Glen in twilight and tramped down the track in the dark.
On arrival back at the hut there were 5 more members and a guest. The evening entertainment included mulled wine thoughtfully supplied by the Moffatts and a splendid seminar on the future of the club led by Bob Brown in fine rhetorical fashion. It also transpired that the 6 Saturday arrivals had taken good advantage of the hut’s proximity to Inverness and had cycled there.
On Sunday while Bob and Fay, Elizabeth their guest, and Sharon cycled back to town, Peter, Marion and Robin went up Moruisg, Barry climbed Fuar Tholl and I has a good walk over to Torridon. The threatened rain never came.
